Beckham waited 13 hours to see her farewell to Queen Elizabeth

Former England captain David Beckham stood in line for more than 13 hours to bid farewell to thousands of mourners for Queen Elizabeth on Friday in London.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder said he joined the queue at 2:15 am local time 0115 GMT.

We want to be here together, we want to celebrate the wonderful life our Queen had,” Beckham, 47, who was wearing a dark flat hat and dark suit with black tie, told reporters. A moment like this we’re supposed to share together.

And talk regarding snacking on chips, candy, and cookies with other diners to keep them energized.

Westminster Hall television clips showed the former player, who had met the Queen several times, stunned as he waited to pass in front of the casket.

While giving his farewell look around 3.25pm, Beckham bowed his head and closed his eyes for a moment.

Beckham, co-owner of Major League Soccer club Inter Miami, wrote on Instagram last week that the Queen’s death “deeply saddens him”.

He added, “The intense sadness we all feel today shows what she meant to people in this country and around the world.” How inspired we are in her leadership. How she comforted us in difficult times.
