The official account of the 2022 World Cup on the social networking site “Twitter” was ridiculed by a large segment of football fans, following publishing a false tweet.
And the World Cup account on Twitter published a picture of the Mexican national team star, Javier Hernandez, known as “Chicharito”, and wrote on it: “Javier Hernandez will have the possibility to continue to increase his share of scoring as a striker for the Mexican national team.”
The account assumed that Chicharito, who is currently active in the Los Angeles Galaxy, will be part of the Mexican team’s mission that will go to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.
Social media pioneers mocked the tweet and interacted with it greatly, especially since Chicharito has not been called up to the Mexican national team list since 2019.
One of the tweeters wrote: “FIFA is pressing, did you know he won’t go to the World Cup, right?”, while another said: “Someone should inform FIFA that Chicharito is unfortunately banned in Mexico.”
Another fan responded sarcastically: “It’s easier for our other historic World Cup goalscorer, Luis Hernandez, to go.”
Chicharito, who participated in 3 World Cups with Mexico, is the best scorer for his country in history with 52 goals.
Also, Chicharito is the second player with the most participation with Mexico in the World Cup, jointly with his colleague Andres Guardado, who both played 12 matches, and is only above them, Rafael Marquez, who played 19 matches.
In addition, Chicharito, during his professional career on the European continent, was called the legendary substitute, due to the number of goals he scored as a substitute player, especially during his time with Manchester United and Real Madrid.
