The Chinese Anti-Doping Agency (Xinada) recognized the positive samples of the athletes and conducted its own investigations, which revealed that traces of the banned drug were found in the kitchen of the hotel where the athletes stayed during the competition, but the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) decided not to prosecute the Chinese swimmers, despite the… According to the American newspaper, it received information about their positive test results, and allowed them to compete in the 2020 Olympics.

Valeeva was excluded for four years after traces of trimetazidine were found in the skater’s sample in December 2021. As a result, she was stripped of the gold medal for winning the team championship at the 2022 Olympics, as well as her Russian and European titles.
