Shortly following, 12 units from this entity and four from the Civil Defense began work to put out the fire. After determining what was the fire caused by a wick balloon, relief personnel had to abandon their task at regarding 11:30 p.m. due to difficult terrain conditions.
However, at 6:00 in the morning this Sunday they were resumed, said Captain Nelson Zuluaica, commander of the Bello Fire Department.
since that hour relief agencies remain on site to completely control the fire and carry out the process of ash guards to prevent the fire from starting once more.
Commander Zuluaica called on citizens to avoid, in this season of celebrations, practices such as the use of gunpowder and wick balloons, not only because of the damage it can cause to people, but also to buildings, with structural fires for example, and to the environment.
