Today, Friday, gunmen attacked the “Al-Jadeed” TV building in Beirut, and the Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Bassam Mawlawi, confirmed the investigation into the attack on the building, and the determination to find the truth.
Ibrahim Al-Halabi, director of public relations at Al-Jadeed TV, announced that “the channel’s building was shot despite the presence of members of the security forces to protect the building,” as 14 bullets penetrated at dawn today the fourth and fifth floors of the building.

Mawlawi said in a press conference today, Friday, that “the shooting that was recorded last night took place from the Cola Bridge towards the building, towards the location of the canal protection personnel.”
The Minister of Interior stated that “the Information Division is continuing the investigation into the incident, as well as the investigation into the previous incident, and we are determined to find the truth.”
He said, “We insist on protecting all media and non-media institutions, because maintaining security and order is our responsibility.”
Al-Jadeed channel was hit by a Molotov cocktail at dawn last Tuesday, which did not cause any damage, followed by gunfire at dawn on Wednesday in the vicinity of the building without damage, leading to shooting at dawn today, Friday.
It is likely that the reason for the attacks on the “new” was a satirical “sketch” by actress Joanna Karaki, which sparked angry reactions a few days ago when she spoke regarding the Shiites in the south, in the “Fashah Khalq” program, which was shown on the channel, which was subjected to a campaign once morest it because of it.
