THE beauty industry in Indonesia will experience a 21.9 percent increase in 2023. This increase is the result of trends created by beauty influencers through various social media platforms.

The development of the beauty industry through trends on social media is clear evidence of changes in people’s tastes and needs for beauty which are increasingly different.

The beauty treatment trend was initially limited to treatments to remove dead skin cells or facials. The beauty trend has increased to meet the needs of the community with facial lifting treatments, skin boosters or anti-aging treatments.

This beauty trend was introduced by influencers through social media platforms, such as TikTok and Instagram. They provide education and tips through video reviews, product introductions, and success in carrying out beauty treatments on themselves.

Through influencers, people are increasingly tempted to follow beauty trends. However, Dr. Aji Bayu Chandra, a beauty doctor at the Maharvaclinic clinic, asked the public to be aware of beauty trends that can harm themselves.

Like the beauty trend of cleaning the face using menstrual blood. “This trend only has a bad impact on health, not a beauty effect on its application,” said according to Dr. Aji Bayu Chandra.

This kind of trend is currently a new concern in the beauty industry. Just like medical treatment, choosing a trusted beauty treatment is necessary.

Choosing the right influencer is like choosing a trusted beauty clinic. In Indonesia, there are a number of beauty influencers who have medical backgrounds that can inspire. Or try following Step up your beauty on Instagram created by ZP Therapeurics.

“Step up your beauty can be a platform that provides education to the public regarding safe and original treatments, so that the public can be educated about the right beauty treatments,” said Chief Operating Officer of ZP Therapeutics Indonesia, Ay Lie Widjaja, August 24, 2024 at the Westin Hotel.
