Beau’s Buds to Host ‘Very Merry’ Event to Support Kentucky Children’s Hospital

Festive Dinner to Benefit Kentucky Children’s Hospital

Get ready for a night of community, delicious food, and holiday cheer, all while supporting a wonderful cause. Kentucky Children’s Hospital is set to benefit from a festive four-course prix fixe dinner event, “A Very Merry Christmas Dinner,” at the elegant Fasig-Tipton’s Seattle Slew Room on December 12th at 5 p.m.

The event, spearheaded by Beau Spicer – owner of Louis’ Flower Power and the benevolent celebratory arm, Beau’s Buds – aims to solidify its position as Lexington’s premier holiday gathering that directly benefits children in need. After last year’s successful fundraising dinner held at Rene & Alexandra’s Floralshop, Spicer, inspired by the community’s generosity, decided to upscale the affair.

“Being a business owner, it has given me the avenues to give back to the community,” Spicer said. He shared that his collaborative partnership with local chef Ouita Michel, of Holly Hill Events, further fueled the event’s expansion.

This year, the event moves from a cozy intimate gathering to a spacious setting, with enough room to accommodate up to guests.

"The stars aligned,” Spicer, “From a small event last year, to an amazing dinner at an amazing location with amazing chefs."

Enjoy a delectable six-course prix fixe menu curated by the talented chefs, Nick Zaluski and Micah Arvin.

  • Amuse-Bouche: Kick off your culinary journey with a delightful amouse-bouche of hot brown gougere.

  • Salad Course: Savor a refreshing salad featuring mixed greens, marinated haricot vert, roasted tomatoes, and Weisenberger cornbread croissants.

  • Soup Course: Indulge in a Ulupsh local squash and apple bisque, accented with brown butter, burnt sage, and toasted pepitas.
  • Intermezzo Rested your palate with a palate cleansing sorbet
  • Entrée: Delight in a carved beef tenderloin accompanied by Kenny’s cheddar and gouda potato gratin, roasted broccolini, sauce Diane, and gremolata.

  • Dessert: Conclude your meal with a gorgeous honey cake layered with homemade pecan ice cream and brown butter solids.

A vegetarian option will also be available upon request.

“You have to be excited for this menu," says Spicer, "but most importantly, remember that this is an opportunity for the community to show its support and care for each other."

Individual tickets, available for $150 – with $115 directly benefiting Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Tables of eight can be purchased

Patrons are encouraged to bring a new, unopened toy for the Kentucky Children’s Hospital’s Winter Wonderland Toy Drive. Different drop-off locations are available for those who can’t attend:
