The Engineers Syndicate in Beirut witnessed a major dispute between a number of retired engineers and the syndicate’s treasurer, Raymond Khoury.
According to the information, the engineers demanded an increase in their salaries following the union reduced it from $900 to $60.
A widely circulated video showed how Khoury hit the engineer, Haider Amthna, on the face with a phone that was in front of him, which damaged the latter’s face.
As a result, a state of pandemonium occurred among the present engineers, and files that were on Khoury’s desk were tampered with.
