NOVAK Djokovic failed to take advantage of the opportunity to win his 100th career title after losing to Jannik Sinner in the Shanghai Masters final, Sunday (13/10).
Sinner, who is the world number one, continued his dominant form this year with a 7-6 (7/4) and 6-3 victory over Djokovic.
Djokovic is trying to become the third male tennis player, after Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103), to win more than 100 titles.

This is additional motivation for Djokovic to become champion at the Shanghai Masters.
However, a number of mistakes made by the winner of 24 Grand Slam titles in the match against Sinner meant that the Serbian tennis player failed to win.
Sinner, who continues to face doping charges despite initially being found not guilty, performed well to win his seventh title of the year.
Sinner, who this season won the Australian Open and the United States (US) Open, has won 65 of 71 matches throughout 2024. (bbc/Z-1)
