On June 29 and 30, Saint-Laurent-du-Var hosts the third stage of the Beach Wrestling World Series. An event in which France presents itself with 19 athletes.
The French stage of the Beach Wrestling World Series is for this Thursday. Last year, this meeting welcomed more than 70 international wrestlers. A third stage co-organized by the French Wrestling Federation, the United World Wrestling and the Stade Laurentin Lutte. This year, the organization is much more consequent.
Indeed, the beach sports festival is making a comeback in Saint-Laurent-du-Var on Cousteau beach. Beach Wrestling has the honor, once once more, to open the festivities by being the first sport celebrated during this event. Since the beginning of the week, the city of the South region has been hosting the European U17 and U20 Beach Wrestling Championships.
Ambitious Blues at home
From this Thursday, place at the stage of the World Series. For the third consecutive year, this circuit once once more stops in Saint-Laurent-du-Var. This competition is exclusively for Senior beach wrestlers. The competition begins this Thursday, June 29 from 10 a.m. with the qualifying phases. The second qualification phase and the finals will be held on Friday 30 June.
This competition will be a major event for our wrestlers, but also for international wrestlers since in August the Beach Wrestling World Championships will be held in Bali. This tournament is therefore the perfect opportunity for the French team to refine its preparation for this major event.
For this stage of the Beach Wrestling World Series of Saint-Laurent-du-Var 2023, the delegation is made up of 19 athletes. All of them recently participated in the last French Beach Wrestling Championship in Toulon last June. There are also experienced wrestlers, well placed in the international Ranking rankings such as Justine Vigouroux, Manon Kury or Quentin Sticker.
