be careful, these sweets sold throughout France must not be consumed

These candies are currently subject to a consumer recall due to a choking hazard.

If you feel like falling for a candy, watch out. Wednesday, March 8, the site for dangerous product alerts Drink reminder issued a reminder. The latter targets two packets of sweets of the same brand. Specifically, these are the Jelly Straws Assorted 260 gram and Jelly Fruity Assorted packets.

These two ABC brand packets have been sold throughout France at retailers and mass distribution brands. These products are affected by a recall due to the presence of the additives E407 and E410 in the candies. The first food additive is used as a texture agent and the second acts as a thickener.

Possible respiratory arrests

Which is far from trivial since because of this, the treats are more solid and can therefore lead to a choking hazard especially for young children. The government site Rappel Conso warns of possible respiratory arrest and internal damage.

If these sweets have a place in your cupboards, stop eating them and return them directly to the point of sale for a refund.
