BCCI Team’s Historic Visit to Pakistan for the Asia Cup: BCCI President Roger Binny and Vice President Rajiv Shukla Lead Delegation

New Delhi ∙ BCCI team came to Pakistan following accepting the invitation of Pakistan Cricket Board. BCCI President Roger Binny and Vice President Rajiv Shukla arrived in Lahore via Wagah border. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah abstained from the visit. This is the first time that BCCI representatives will visit Pakistan following the 2008 Mumbai terror attack.

The BCCI team will attend a dinner hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board in Lahore. Apart from India, representatives of other teams participating in the Asia Cup will also attend the banquet. The BCCI team will be there to watch the Sri Lanka-Afghanistan match on Tuesday and the first match of the Super Four. These matches are played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

This year’s Asia Cup is the first major tournament that Pakistan will host following the 2008 Asia Cup. With the BCCI taking a stand that the Indian team will not come to Pakistan to play in the tournament, Pakistan has become a venue for only four matches. Sri Lanka will host 9 matches of the tournament including the final.
