BB.lv: “They can’t even make nails themselves”

How great is the risk of communications equipment falling into the hands of Russians, if it is known how valuable they are? It is known that almost no one is allowed into tanks in Latvia, so that there is no risk that something will be photographed.

Major NAF, staff officer of the National Guard Janis Slaidins talks regarding this on TV24.

“Of course, communication equipment is sensitive, but we thought regarding changing its frequencies,” explains Slaidins, admitting that this is indeed sensitive equipment.

This applies, for example, to fire control software and other equipment: “The question is, can the Russians use it? I think no. As they themselves said, they can’t even make nails themselves in Russia. Because I don’t think they will be able to develop their military industry enough to produce such equipment.”

If an Abrams or Leopard tank falls into the hands of the occupiers, it probably won’t even pose a threat on the battlefield. “Well, let’s look at the story when the Soviet army captured the Tiger tank. Were they able to take advantage of this? I might not! They did something similar, but it was completely behind everything,” Major Janis Slaidins is skeptical regarding Russian capabilities.
