BB.lv: “The guys seem to have agreed that they won’t go to jail because of Karins”

So, this morning the suspended head of the State Chancellery, Janis Cickovskis (by the way, my former student, for whom I supervised my thesis regarding 20 years ago), was invited to TV3. Although I didn’t listen to the whole thing because I had to run to the train, two side-by-side assessments of the saga of Karins’ flights crystallized for me.

1) Officials speak such a strange language that it is possible to understand them with great difficulty and effort. Having been accustomed for years to talk in such a way as to be able to get out of it later, they, even when defending themselves, confuse everything so that the listener can only guess what the official was really thinking. Well, for example, to a direct question from a journalist whether the state chancellery, expecting the state control report in recent months, felt that everything would be so bad, Tsitkovskis answers something that is impossible to translate.

Briefly summarizing and translating what was said into understandable Latvian, I can say that the head of the State Chancellery admits that it was Karins who chose what to fly on. Karins claims the exact opposite, but at the moment the ratio is two once morest one, because the former head of the department, Janis Patmalnieks, says the same thing as Cickovskis. The guys seem to have agreed that they won’t go to prison because of Karins.

2) The most interesting thing in this interview is Janis Cickovskis’s admission that he is looking forward to KNAB taking over this case. AND!? Why such expectations?

And then it “came together” for me. I won’t write regarding my suspicions. I’ll just add here a photo that I believe I borrowed from the said institution’s Facebook account last year. Whatever you may understand from the photo, I can only complete my thoughts with the words of Prosecutor General Janis Stukanas at yesterday’s press conference: “Although the Prime Minister himself, of course, cannot see what is written behind his back in the Cabinet meeting room (One law, one justice for all), everyone else sees it…” Also KNAB! Well, that’s how it should be!?
