BB.lv: Putin on Trump’s idea to end the war quickly: we support it

Putin told journalists about this on Thursday, his words were quoted by the Russian agency Interfax, writes European Pravda.

Putin said he was not familiar with Trump’s specific proposals to end the war in Ukraine, but was taking them “seriously.”

“We take the fact that Mr. Trump, as a presidential candidate, says that he is ready and willing to stop the war in Ukraine quite seriously,” Putin said.

At the same time, he said that he was “not familiar, of course, with possible proposals” of how exactly Trump intends to do this.

Putin noted that Trump’s specific proposals are “of course the key issue.”

“I have no doubt that he says this sincerely, and we support it,” said the Kremlin master.

Former US President Donald Trump, who leads President Joe Biden in the polls ahead of the November election, has repeatedly claimed he can end the war in Ukraine before his inauguration in January. But he has never publicly explained how he plans to do so.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Donald Trump should immediately lay out his plan for quickly ending the war with Russia, if he has one.

According to Politico, Trump’s team is allegedly seriously considering the option of a “deal with the Kremlin” to end the Russian-Ukrainian war, which would mean Ukraine and Georgia’s refusal to join NATO and territorial concessions for Ukraine.
