The Minister in charge of Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, stated today, Thursday, that the number of beneficiaries of the wage increase, in implementation of the outcomes of the social dialogue, will reach 1,127,000 employees, highlighting that the cost of this dialogue will approach 45 billion dirhams by the year 2026.
Baitas explained, during a press conference following the weekly meeting of the government council, that these increases will be reflected in the wage bill, which will witness a continuous increase year following year, noting that the minimum net monthly wage in the public sector has increased from 3,000 to 4,500 dirhams, an increase of 50 percent.
He added that the matter also concerns the deletion of Level 7 for employees belonging to the administrative assistant and technical assistant bodies, as well as reviewing the income tax, raising the promotion quota in the grade, and approving other procedures for education employees.
The Minister considered that “this effort made by the government stems from its belief that the social state’s workshop is comprehensive and concerns the vulnerable classes that benefit from the health coverage and social support system, as well as the category of employees and workers.”
He also stressed that “the results of the social dialogue reflect the government’s keenness to commit to strengthening the legal and economic aspects, and to accompany them socially through workshops and measures that have had an impact on citizens.”
