The artist, Bayoumi Fouad, stated that he does not have a fixed law for his wages for artistic works, explaining that each artist has his own wage, which changes incrementally from year to year. ‏

He said during an interview with the “Incredible Ink” program, broadcast on the “Cairo and the People” screen on Friday evening, that he may earn 10 pounds in 2023, and instead of earning 12 pounds in 2024 for working with the same company or another company, he may receive 6 pounds. Pointing out that the producers ask him to do this because of the high cost of work or their lack of a large budget. ‏

He pointed out that some of his colleagues in the artistic community criticized him for accepting a lower wage than usual, saying: “Mohamed Salam once said to me, ‘Why do you do this to us, Uncle Bayoumi?’” He means my number in the money, because we are like some Muhammad Salam, a star in his place, and my day is a star in his place. Because in the end, he is told that he took such and such a number on my day, man, it is a shame! Personally, I receive blame from many of my colleagues. Because of this issue.” ‏

He expressed his satisfaction with his financial situation, saying: “Thank God, I am in a good situation. God has blessed me with abundance, so I want to close this situation like a game of dominoes. Every time I open something, I close it once more because of the insults.” ‏

Fouad stressed that he did not know the wages of his fellow artists, indicating that this was unacceptable and a “shame.”
