Show of strength in Istanbul: After the weakest first 45 minutes of the season, in which Bayern were very lucky not to go into the break with a deficit, coach Thomas Tuchel’s team improved following the change in all parts of the team and achieved their third victory in the third group game.

Alphonso Davies: The Canadian had big problems in the first half with the aggressive Teté and the right-back Boey, who kept moving up. But Sané also let him down in defense. Offensively with good speed runs, but the wrong decisions on the penultimate pass. He bit into the game in the second half and won more duels.
Joshua Kimmich: Very weak first half from the captain. Was taken into man-marking by Torreira and had enormous difficulties. Played a lot of back passes to Ulreich and was never able to take control of the game. In co-production with Kim, he caused the penalty following a completely unnecessary tackle and wasted the ball on his own penalty line shortly before half-time. Konrad Laimer: The only Bayern player who held up robustly and passionately in the first half – but also often seemed lost. Harry Kane (until 87): Had a difficult time in the front line and wasn’t a factor for a long time because Bayern were too busy defending. As usual, he dropped into midfield, but then found no takers. He only won 25 percent of his duels, but was exactly right once and scored the important goal to make it 2-1. He also provided the assist for Musiala to make it 3-1.
Bouna Sarr (from the 78th minute for Mazraoui): Unremarkable Champions League comeback from the Senegalese at right back, limited himself to not making any mistakes.
Mathys Tel (from 83rd for Coman): Had a shot on goal shortly before the end, otherwise there was no scene worth mentioning.
Eric Maxime Choupo-Moting (from 83rd for Kane): With his physical presence, he helped Bayern secure the victory in the end with confidence. Remarkably, he was preferred to Thomas Müller, who remained out for 90 minutes.
