Germany – Bayern Munich ended its recent series of defeats in the German Bundesliga, following defeating its guest, Köln, with two unanswered goals, yesterday, Saturday, at the “Allianz Arena”, as part of the twenty-ninth round of the competition.
The victory is the first for the Bavarian giant in the wake of two consecutive losses in the tournament, to Borussia Dortmund with two clean goals, and Heidenheim by three goals to two, to regain its balance once more and raise its score to 63 points in second place.
On the other hand, Cologne’s balance froze at 22 points in the seventeenth and penultimate place, following suffering its fifteenth loss this season, making its position severely deteriorated in the relegation struggle five rounds before the end of the competition.
Bayern’s double, which was delayed until the second half, was scored by Portuguese Rafael Guerrero, in the 65th minute, and veteran German international and team captain Thomas Muller, in the 90th + 3 minute.
In the same round, Borussia Dortmund defeated its host Borussia Mönchengladbach by two goals to one, as Austrian Marcel Sabitzer scored for the winner in the 22nd and 28th minutes from a penalty kick, and his compatriot Maximilian Fauber scored Mönchengladbach’s goal in the 36th minute.
Dortmund was forced to complete the match with ten players from the 55th minute following its player, Karim Adeyemi, was sent off for a second warning.
Dortmund raised its score to 56 points in fifth place, with a goal difference only from Leipzig, which is in fourth place, while Mönchengladbach’s score froze at 31 points in eleventh place.
