MEMBER of the Indonesian Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) Lolly Suhenty believes that the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) can complete the recapitulation of the national level vote tally results for the 2024 Election before March 20 2024.

“I think everyone has the same commitment, to make the most of the time they have, even though their rest time is automatically limited,” said Lolly in a discussion/dialogue in the Kemayoran area, Jakarta, Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, Lolly also reminded the Indonesian KPU to complete the recapitulation according to the predetermined schedule.

“For Bawaslu, it must be completed. Why? Because the schedule is clear, the 20th (March 2024) is set,” he said.

Previously, the Chair of the Indonesian Bawaslu, Rahmat Bagja, also reminded the Indonesian KPU to complete the recapitulation of the 2024 elections on time.

“It must be finished. On March 20 (2024) it must be finished,” said Bagja in a discussion held by the West Merdeka Forum 9 and monitored from Jakarta (13/3).

Bagja then explained that if the recapitulation process was not completed on time, the Indonesian KPU might be punished for violating Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections.

“So don’t let it (happen). We also hope that KPU friends really don’t expect that at all,” he said.

However, Bagja understands that the recapitulation of votes for the 2024 General Election at the provincial level has passed the deadline or is not according to the proper schedule, namely March 10 2024.

“Basically, force majeure. Then, the problem has not been resolved at the district/city level. The districts/cities are delayed, which results in the province being delayed,” he said.

Based on KPU Regulation (PKPU) Number 5 of 2024 concerning Recapitulation of Vote Counting Results and Determination of Election Results, the recapitulation of vote counting results at the sub-district level by the District Election Committee (PPK) is scheduled for 15 February-2 March 2024.

Next, the recapitulation will be carried out at the district/city KPU on 17 February-5 March 2024. Then, on 19 February-10 March the vote recapitulation will be held at the provincial KPU. After that, the national level recapitulation began on February 22-March 20 which was carried out by the Indonesian KPU.

Meanwhile, based on the “Plenary Meeting of Recapitulation of National Level Vote Counting Results” held by the Indonesian KPU on Wednesday (28/2) to Monday (4/3), the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair won 421,605 votes in 127 Outer Election Committee regions State (PPLN).

In second place was Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar with 120,085 votes, and in last place was Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md who got 117,351 votes.

Meanwhile, based on the national recapitulation as of Saturday (9/3) to Thursday (14/3) at 23.00 WIB, the Indonesian KPU has validated the vote results for the Presidential Election in 25 provinces at the national level.

The 25 provinces include the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Gorontalo, Central Kalimantan, Bali, Lampung, Bangka Belitung, West Kalimantan, South Sumatra, Central Java, DKI Jakarta, Riau Islands, East Nusa Tenggara and North Kalimantan.

Next, South Kalimantan, Banten, East Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, East Java, West Sulawesi, Riau, West Papua, North Sulawesi, Bengkulu, West Sumatra and South Sulawesi.

The Prabowo-Gibran pair won 65,339,951 votes in the 25 provinces. Furthermore, Anies-Muhaimin received 24,268,401 votes, and Ganjar-Mahfud received 21,224,173 votes.

The 2024 presidential election is being participated by three pairs, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar candidate pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka candidate pair number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. candidate pair number 3.

In accordance with KPU Regulation Number 3 of 2022, the national vote recapitulation for the 2024 Election is scheduled to take place from February 15 to March 20 2024. (Z-8)
