This weekend, people across Bavaria are once once more taking to the streets to demonstrate for democracy and take a stand once morest right-wing extremism. According to official figures, there were 910,000 participants in demos last weekend.
Demos once morest right-wing extremism all over Bavaria
Many activities took place on Saturday mornings, for example in Sonthofen and Lindau, each with around 2,000 participants. According to police, more than 5,000 citizens joined a demonstration in Schwabach. Around 1,500 people gathered in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz under the motto “Silence is no longer enough – become active once morest the right”. According to the police, around 6,000 people came together in Ingolstadt – the demo under the motto “Together once morest the right” is being organized here by the action alliance “Ingolstadt is colorful”. A total of around 50 organizations and all parties on the city council except the AfD are taking part.
There were also demonstrations in Landsberg, Füssen, Burghausen, Dillingen and Regensburg. In Schweinfurt, according to the police, 6,500 demonstrators came to the market square for the rally under the motto “Never once more is now”, organized by the “Schweinfurt is colorful” alliance.
Demonstrations without incident
In the followingnoon we continued with demos, including in Straubing, Hof, Memmingen, Aichach, Aschaffenburg and Kitzingen – here organized by a group of students. Around 800 people gathered in Regen. In Passau, the Alliance for Democracy and Diversity, an association of various groups and associations, called for a rally – around 6,000 people came. “The largest demonstration, the broadest alliance that has ever taken place in Passau,” said Passau’s mayor Jürgen Dupper (SPD).
According to the police, the Bavaria-wide gatherings were peaceful and without incident. In Schweinfurt there were temporary disruptions to traffic due to the large number of demonstrators.
