According to “Kicker”, the change from Austria’s soccer team player Christoph Baumgartner from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim to RB Leipzig is fixed. According to the German trade magazine on Tuesday, the clubs are said to have agreed on a transfer fee of 24 million euros. This would make the 23-year-old the second most expensive Austrian footballer in history. Only for Marko Arnautovic did Shanghai SIPG pay West Ham United more in 2019, at 25 million euros.

Baumgartner should strengthen the attacking midfield of the German cup winners and compensate for a potential departure of ex-Salzburg player Dominik Szoboszlai. The Lower Austrian is said to have agreed on a five-year contract with Leipzig’s sports director Max Eberl.

However, the medical check and the signing of the contract should only take place following the international matches of the ÖFB team once morest Belgium (June 17) and Sweden (June 20). With seven goals and seven assists, Baumgartner played a key role in TSG Hoffenheim staying up in the league last season, to which he came from St. Pölten in 2017.
