PUBG: Battlegrounds Term 2 (APRIL – JUNE)
CANCELLATION OF SANHOK
Sanhok is one of the areas you talked regarding quite loudly. We attempted a few changes in an effort to modernize Sanhok, but in the end, many of you still preferred the original map. We heard your feedback and are doing the following for Sanhok:
- Sanhok will return to its original form
- Sanhok is our oldest small map and is still loved by many players
- Due to its age it has seen a number of features added and a major overhaul
- Some players like the revamped version, but most players want the original Sanhok back
- We’ve given a lot of thought to long-standing requests and have made the decision to reinstate the card
- The inverted version is in the final stage of stabilization and will be revealed in the near future
- With the rollback, many added features will be removed, but we are thinking regarding how we will move forward with the original form of Sanhok
NEW WEAPON: 7.62MM ASSAULT RIFLE (AR)
Assault Rifles (ARs) use the 5.56mm or 7.62mm, but there seems to be a smaller group of 7.62mm ARs that can use the full auto fire mode. Therefore, one of our goals for Q2 is to add an additional 7.62mm AR to the mix.
- For the variety of weapons, we are developing a new 7.62mm weapon
- 7.62mm weapons have high DPS but are harder to control
- New 7.62mm weapon in development has comparatively lower DPS but is easier to control, positioned between Beryl (high damage, hard to control) and AKM (low damage, easier to control)
ENHANCED TRAINING MODE
PUBG: Battlegrounds The training mode has seen few major changes since its inception. With so many new players joining the game from Free-to-Play, we thought it was a good time to focus on more practical training areas.
- Since the beginning of this year, we have been working on improving the training mode
- In the current training mode, players can train with weapons and vehicles.
- With Free-to-Play, more hands-on training programs are needed.
- Players will be able to practice PvP combat there.
- Adding an Aim/Sound training room in the last update was part of the effort
- A 1vs1 training ground will be added where players can fight one-on-one
as if they were on the real battlefields- Quality of life updates are also on the way:
- Fast travel in training grounds
- Custom match practice mode that allows players to practice with friends
PARAMO WORLD UPDATE
In PUBG, the terrain can be just as important as the right loadout and the right aim. We’re constantly reviewing the maps to make sure they’re tactically fair and fun. Paramo mostly has overly beneficial areas that we want to look into for balance adjustments.
- There are overly advantageous areas in the world, which will be adjusted to balance
- We are constantly improving the terrain balance of Battlegrounds by making adjustments
- We want to make sure there is distinct gameplay on each map
- The Paramo sub-update is scheduled for Q2.
- Sub-updates for existing maps such as Miramar and Taego will also follow.
QOL IMPROVEMENT
We’re always looking for small ways to make a big difference in your quality of life while you play. While some systems are intentionally meant to be harder, there are definitely places we can improve.
- PUBG has inherently awkward elements as a realistic Battle Royale rule, like not being able to use healing and boosting items in the driver’s seat of a vehicle or having to guess the perfect moment to a cooked pomegranate.
- Therefore, we want to find places where we can reduce inconvenience without affecting core gameplay through systems such as the UI by providing the information players have had to learn from experience.
