Jonathan Reed, with more than 10 years of professional career in Europe, will give a sports clinic for basketball players this Friday, August 9 on the court of the Francisco de Montejo Sports Unit, where there will also be a professional match.

The clinic will be divided into two blocks: the first for children from 8 to 12 years old, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; the second, for young people, from 13 years old and older, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The registration fee is 600 pesos, which includes participation in this activity and admission to the exhibition game.

Raziel Ku Ortega and Victor “Kisho” Medina Hernandez, organizers of the event, announced the details of this international match and reported that there will be an exhibition match between the OnPoint Hoops team from the United States and Club Felinos from Merida. The Oklahoma quintet is made up of professional players from the National League who have played in the Copa Sudamericana in Ecuador, while the Felinos will have players from the academy, reinforced with elements from the Yucatecan Basketball Circuit such as Brandon Heredia, Miguel Mardueño, Irving Peniche and Raziel Ku himself.

Present at the presentation were Jesús Aguilar y Aguilar, technical secretary of Sports for the City Council of Mérida; Francesc Perarnau Grau, representative of Ademena Yucatán, and Martín Ranfft, general manager of the Camino Real Mérida Hotel.

Reed played in China, Switzerland, Estonia and Ireland, where he was named Player of the Year twice. After returning to the United States, he founded OnPoint Hoops Academy and has trained hundreds of players, including many with NBA careers.
