Basil’s speech indicates the continuation of the same approach!

The head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Representative Gibran Bassil, in his lengthy speech yesterday, during the ceremony of releasing the names of his political team’s candidates to the parliamentary elections, ignored the fact that he has been in power for at least 6 years and since 2006 at most, and that he has today a president in Baabda Palace and a majority in both councils Representatives and ministers… He spoke to public opinion as if a team had seen the light now and presented to them a rescue project that he would implement if the Lebanese people gave him their confidence and brought him to the helm of responsibility!

This is how opposition political sources read through the “central” Basil’s speech on Sunday. In her opinion, the latter forgot a “small detail”, which is that he holds the reins of government in the country and the highest political, security, ministerial, service, diplomatic, economic and banking positions in Lebanon, and he started telling the Lebanese that he will bring them electricity, water, a strong state, development and prosperity, reform and the looted money, if he wins the elections. While the most prominent of these life files were in the custody of his ministers, they failed miserably in managing them. The orange team may say that “political strife” (which Bassil criticized on Saturday) and the “warfare” group that Bassil relied on to describe his opponents yesterday, prevented him from achieving his achievements, but Basil himself, in the same speech yesterday, declared that “no one looks like us in Lebanon and we are not We look like someone, but what do we do? Are we left alone?” And in justifying his electoral alliances. He also asked in order to challenge the other team: If you win the elections, will you be able to form governments without Hezbollah?!

This means, according to the sources, that the Free Patriotic Movement, if it wins the majority, will not only ally with Hezbollah and sit with it in governments, but will again accept to sit with the Amal movement and the other March 8 parties as well, “because the movement cannot remain alone.” This also means “practically”, that the disruption of the Free Patriotic Movement’s projects and plans will continue, especially since the movement accuses the Amal movement and its ministers of “fracking” the reform path and of protecting the corrupt and considers it part of the system, even accusing Hezbollah of failing to support it in the internal files related to reform. In keeping with Amal and standing by the minds of its president, President Nabih Berri, on these issues.

The scene is clear then, the sources follow. In the event that the national movement wins the majority, nothing will change, and the approach of confusion in government and the failure of the rescue wheel for a thousand excuses and excuses, from “we were left out” to “political strife” to “warfare”, remains and will not change, and with it the Lebanese plunge further into their living, financial, life and political crises. Which will be exacerbated by an Arab-Gulf estrangement and international isolation, which will also not change if March 8 returns once again to controlling the rudder in Lebanon and controlling its decision.. Do they want to extend their stay in “hell” for an additional 6 years?
