He pointed out, “We proudly nominated Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri as a bloc to head the parliament, and we did not negotiate or ask anyone, and certainly not Bassil, to exchange votes with any site, and we are proud of the experience of the parliamentary leadership, which put this authority and its role in its true position, cooperating with powers as stipulated in the constitution.
Khalil explained, “As for the conditions he tries to set, the matter is up to him, and he is trying to delude the Lebanese that we are the ones who disrupted the criminal audit, which Berri had the honor to work on approving four laws related to it and lifting banking secrecy, and how he disrupted his team for the approval times of Capital Control.” He stopped the judicial formations, and none of the anti-corruption laws were implemented, and many other things that have plunged the country into the calamity we are living in. As for the development of the system and decentralization, everyone heard Berri’s firm position last Tuesday.
And he asked that “people answer, not us, about its conditions and demand from him in accounting for electricity, communications, dams and their deals,” considering that “Berry was not accustomed to negotiating from under the table over any of the sites, and he supervises them, and he never accepted from anyone to place much greater conditions on him.” What is presented, and our commitment to the people remains, with Berri, to work seriously to get the country out of the depths of crises that your reign bequeathed us as a second vice president of the republic, which brought it to the pit it is in.”
