Baseball player Wander Franco’s hearing for sexual abuse postponed (+DETAILS)

The beginning of the preliminary trial against Dominican baseball player Wander Francoaccused of sexual abuse against a minor, scheduled for this Wednesday, was postponed to September 26.

Wander Franco postponed due to lack of evidence

Franco is accused in the Dominican Republic of sexual abuse, sexual exploitation and human trafficking against a young minor.

The Dominican’s defense asked the court to postpone the hearing, because the Puerto Plata Prosecutor’s Office did not notify evidence of the case.

The lawyers representing the minor’s mother, who is also being accused by the authorities, also agreed. For his part, Franco, who was present during the hearing, did not make any statements to the press.

“I think he will ask for a dismissal,” said the lawyer for the minor’s father.

According to attorney Dignora Diloné, legal representative of the father of the minor with whom Franco allegedly had sexual relations and who was the only one who spoke to the press after the hearing ended, the judge accepted the request made by the defense attorneys and set the next court date for September 26, 2024.
