Barzani calls the region’s parliament to expedite the activation of the Electoral Commission

Baghdad / Obelisk: The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, called, on Sunday 15/01/2023, the Kurdistan Parliament to expedite holding a session to activate the Independent High Commission for Elections and Referendum in the Kurdistan Region, indicating that the Kurdistan Regional Government is ready to secure everything necessary to hold the elections, And stressing the need to conduct it during the current year.

Barzani confirmed, in a statement received by Al-Masalla, the commitment of his government cabinet to protect the supreme interests of the people of Kurdistan and to preserve the constitutional entity of the Kurdistan region, pointing to the agreement of the members of his cabinet to erase the traces of the two administrations in the Kurdistan region, and to implement government decisions in the same way throughout the Kurdistan region.

He added, “Since the formation of this booth, we have agreed to erase the effects of the dual administration, expressing readiness to secure election supplies as soon as possible, and stressing that the Kurdistan Parliament elections must be held during this year.”

He pointed out that, unfortunately, there were obstacles and obstacles placed in the way of the Kurdistan Regional Government, and the obstacles harmed the lives and livelihood of our citizens, stressing that the participating parties in the government should not play the role of the opposition, and the ministers and ministerial blocs should work to implement the government program.

Barzani demanded that those accused of the assassination of Hawker Al-Jaf be handed over to the judiciary, adding: We did not accuse any party in the file of Hawker Al-Jaf.

Masrour Barzani noted the need not to put obstacles in the way of reforming and unifying the Peshmerga forces, explaining: We have taken practical steps to reform and unify the Peshmerga forces.
