National tennis player Tomás Barrios, 120th in the ATP ranking, referred to what will be his debut at the Chile Open, where he will have to face his compatriot Cristian Garín (88th).

On Saturday afternoon, the main draw of the Chile Open 2024 was defined. The ATP 250 draw in Santiago grouped the four main players in our country on the same side of the draw, something that the Chillán-born player did not like.

Due to the above, in a press conference, the 120th in the world regretted having to play against Garín in the premiere.

“Obviously it is not the best to play among Chileans. One wants the Chilean to advance, but we are all on the same side. It is not ideal, but we will be enjoying it there,” said Tomás Barrios.

“It will be a nice game. I hope the best one wins,” added the Chilanejo, regarding what will be his clash against ‘Gago’.

It is worth mentioning that whoever wins the Chilean match will face another tennis player from our country: Alejandro Tabilo (52nd), who awaits as an opponent in the round of 16.

Nicolás Jarry will follow the same path, who could face one of his compatriots in an eventual semifinal between national tennis players.
