The Barranquilla Ministry of Health denied deaths that are associated with a bacterium present in a batch of diclofenac in the city. Likewise, he asked the community not to share these types of rumors.

This is the statement:
1. Clinical history reviews, inspection and surveillance visits were carried out in IPS of the city, as well as national consultations of alerts issued by INVIMA (entity that monitors medicines in the country).and it was found that there is no official report of deaths associated with the use of the drug.
2. At the national level, the entity in charge of regulating the entry and distribution of medicines in the country, INVIMAhas not issued any health alert for any batch of medicine (Diclofenac) with particles, bacteria or some foreign element inside.
3. The District Department of Health recommends that all medications must be prescribed by a health professional and must be dispensed at authorized sites.. The district health entity continues to monitor the inspection, surveillance and control visits in the city’s IPS.
4. The district administration calls on the public to refrain from disseminating, sharing and/or reproduce sensitive audio, images and/or videos that may generate panic or misinformation in the face of medical situations without clear and verifiable investigations.
