The Argentine Football Association (AFA) will bring to Bariloche the final instance of Indoor Soccer (Futsal) and with the visit of the entity’s president, Claudio “Chiqui” Tapia, the World Cup lifted by Lionel Messi at the World Cup in Qatar.

The definition for Bariloche to host the Futsal final, with two tournaments per year (female or male) was reached this week with an agreement signed by Governor Arabela Carreras with Tapia, who will arrive in the city in August and bring the World Cup won by the Argentine team in the Soccer World Cup.

The Andean city will also host a friendly match for the men’s or women’s Futsal teams, with foreign or local teams.

As reported by the province, the agreement also includes – at least once a year – training talks by the technical bodies of the national teams and training actions for referees, assistants and leaders.

In addition, it was reported that work will be done so that the National Congress declares Bariloche as the National Capital of Futsal, with the aim of giving impetus to the sporting activity that takes place in Bariloche with strength.

Direct access to the AFA premises

The Provincial Government indicated that the AFA will also facilitate the access and visit of contingents of boys and girls from the province who, through the Government, will be able to visit the “Lionel Andrés Messi” properties and the “Diego Armando Maradona” Museum.

“This will imply the possibility that our boys and girls from Río Negro can get to know the property and generate a fluid link with this institution,” said the governor.

The Ezeiza property, which bore the name of Julio Humberto Grondona, was renamed “Lionel Andrés Messi” in March 2023, as a distinction and tribute following the Argentine star became world champion in Qatar.

It is a Sports Housing Complex for all the players who represent the country. It consists of three hotel floors, a high-performance training center with medical equipment, wet and dry recovery rooms, and an auditorium for more than 300 people.

The property, located in the Ezeiza forests, is 30 kilometers from the City of Buenos Aires, was inaugurated in 1989 and has 48 hectares.

Meanwhile, the “Diego Armando Maradona” Museum works in the first home owned by the player and his family, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of La Paternal and a few meters from the Argentinos Juniors stadium, which also bears the name of “10”.

The home was recovered, valued and recognized as a historical place in homage to the best footballer in history. It was baptized “La Casa de D10S” and the furniture, decoration and electrical appliances still perfectly represent the lifestyle that was popular in Argentina 40 years ago.
