It was first published exactly seventy years ago Jenő Barcsay the painter’s artistic anatomy written and drawn with years of work, which is considered a basic work in all parts of the world. So far, it has been published in fifteen languages, but its domestic success is also unprecedented, as it has reached twenty-one editions to date! The master analyzes the human body and its limbs in precise drawings on 130 pages. The management of the Barcsay Jenő Képzőművészeti Alápítvány commissioned new prints of the drawings in the book for the jubilee, which, as works to be exhibited, indicate the exceptional qualities of the work and its creator. In the end, the new prints were not made using the old photos, but – in an almost unique way – from the original drawings kept in the Hungarian National Gallery, twenty-five of which were transported for one day to the most modern digital laboratory in Hungary to be scanned. The brand new prints ended up being almost better than the drawings in the book! Those interested can now see them in Leányfalu, who are guaranteed to have an exceptional experience, and the visit is also a good opportunity to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the master’s death.
