Barcelona refuses to resort to FIFA in the Lewandowski crisis

Barcelona continues its efforts to sign Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, Bayern Munich, whose contract with the Bavarian club expires in the summer of 2023.

According to the Catalan newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona is aware of the possibility of terminating Lewandowski’s contract with Bayern through FIFA regulations. Article 17 of the FIFA regulations stipulates that players over the age of 28 can terminate a long contract in exchange for compensation for their clubs, and this is achieved in the case of Leva, who spent 8 years with the Bavarian. In this case, the Polish star will give Bayern much less money than Barcelona’s offer (32 million euros), as it will be in the range of only 10 million euros. But the newspaper indicated that Barcelona refuses to resort to Leva to resolve the litigation, because it will delay his joining the club.
