FC Barcelona, through its president Joan Laporta, has offered direct collaboration and financial support through telephone calls to the mayors of Paiporta, Benetússer and Catarroja, in ground zero of the DANA, as reported by the FC Barcelona Foundation.
The Catalan club, as explained, will make itself “available for the reconstruction of basic social facilities and services in the coming weeks and months, based on the identification of specific needs.”
All aid will be channeled through the Fundació FC Barcelona and will focus on specific initiatives to rebuild essential services identified by these populations in the coming weeks.
As reported by the Barcelona entity, the actions will be financed through the FC Barcelona Foundation’s own funds and various fundraising initiatives will also be launched, such as the auction of shirts signed by the players of the first football team in their match against RCD Espanyol and other iconic elements of interest to Barça fans.

The Catalan club will announce in the coming days what products will be included and how you can participate in this solidarity auction, and this initiative will be joined by others that the Club and the Foundation will announce soon.
Furthermore, the club and the Barcelona Foundation “greatly appreciate the avalanche of solidarity and requests for particular initiatives that it has received” in recent days.
In any case, the Catalan club insists that “for support to be as effective as possible, it is necessary to channel it through the help lines of expert entities in situations such as those now experienced as a result of DANA: Cruz Roja, Cáritas and Food Bank”.
Commitment
In statements offered by FC Barcelona, Laporta expressed the “deepest support and solidarity and to transmit hope and warmth to the people who are suffering so much from this disaster caused by DANA.”
“As president of FC Barcelona, I believe that, from a club like Barça, we can be of help at this time by being, on the one hand, a speaker among our followers to channel aid to the entities that are working on the ground, and on the other, giving support to the rehabilitation of essential social and educational facilities as I have already transmitted directly to some of the most affected municipalities,” he said.
