Barcelona offers 40 million euros for Lewandowski

Barcelona has raised the value of the offer made to Bayern Munich, the German football champion, to give up its Polish international striker Robert Lewandowski, to 40 million euros, according to several media outlets, most notably the German newspaper “Bild”, reported yesterday.

Barcelona initially made an offer of 32 million euros and then raised it to 35 million before it now reaches 40 million, while Bayern Munich is demanding 60 million to give up the 33-year-old who won the FIFA award for the best player in the world twice ( 2020 and 2021) according to BILD.

In light of the difficult financial situation that Barcelona is going through, the contract with Lewandowski may be linked to other deals, including the departure of Dutch international midfielder Frankie de Jong to Manchester United in a deal estimated at 65 million euros, which gives the Catalan club the necessary funding to settle the contract with Lewandowski. .

La Liga president Javier Tebas had confirmed that Barcelona should sell any of Pedri or De Jong to inject enough money to register players and get rid of a major salary crisis that Barcelona is still in its cycle.

Earlier this month, Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic reiterated his commitment to Lewandowski until the expiry of his contract next year.

Lewandowski announced at the end of last May that his “story” with the German club was nearing its end during a press conference with the Polish national team, later justifying this situation by his desire to search for “an additional passion in life.”
