The draw for the group stage of the Champions League this season resulted in Barcelona falling into the “death” group, as Poland’s Robert Lewandowski will return to face his former team Bayern Munich once more following his move last month, while Norwegian Erling Halland will meet his fellow Dortmund players once more.
Barcelona signed in the most difficult group in the championship, along with Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Viktoria Plzen, the Czech Republic, while Manchester City will meet Seville, Borussia Dortmund and Copenhagen of Denmark.
The eighth group contains many of the expected confrontations, as it includes Paris Saint-Germain, Italian Juventus, Benfica, and Israel’s Maccabi Haifa.
The group of champions Real Madrid came medium, following it included German Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine and Celtic of Scotland.
Liverpool returns to face Napoli for the third time in 4 years, following they fell in Group A alongside Ajax and Rangers of Scotland.
The second group included Porto, Atlético Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and Club Brugge, while Eintracht Frankfurt, the European champion in Group D, came out alongside Tottenham Hotspur, Sporting Lisbon and Marseille in France.
The fifth group includes AC Milan, Chelsea of England, Salzburg of Austria and Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia.
