Barcelona won a big victory over its arch-rivals Real Madrid, at the latter’s stadium, by four clean goals, in the framework of the Spanish Football League.
The Catalan team regained its victories in the Spanish summit match, following an absence of victory that lasted two seasons, and avenged its loss in the first round match.
The first half of the match ended with Barcelona leading by two goals.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring, and Ronald Araujo added the second goal with a header.
With the start of the second half, Fran Torres added Barcelona’s third goal, before Aubameyang scored his second goal and his team’s fourth goal.
Real Madrid appeared helpless in the face of the pressure of Barcelona’s attacks, which imposed its control over the rhythm of the match.
Real Madrid’s top scorer, Karim Benzema, was absent from the Real Madrid squad.
“We had a bad game”
“We played a bad match,” Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal said following the match, adding that not winning the Spanish derby was disappointing, although the result of the match did not affect the team’s position in the league table.
Real Madrid leads the standings, while Barcelona advanced to third place, equal in number of points with Atletico Madrid.
