Barcelona announced a five-year contract with Kunde… Buyout is 1.3 trillion won

Spanish professional football FC Barcelona has officially announced a contract with French national center defender Jules Kunde (24, France).

On the 30th (Korean time), Barcelona announced on the club’s website that “Sevilla (Spain) and Kunde have reached an agreement” and “Kunde will sign a five-year contract (until June 2027).”

The day before, Barcelona announced that they had reached an agreement in principle over the transfer of Sevilla and Kunde.

Kunde will sign a contract with Barcelona on August 1 and hold a press conference.

Barcelona did not disclose specific terms of the contract, but said the buyout was €1 billion (regarding 1.3 trillion won).

The buyout is the minimum transfer fee that the original team will have to allow a transfer during the contract period, and any club that wants to take Kunde over the next five years will have to offer Barcelona at least 1 billion euros.

Barcelona renewed their contracts with promising youngsters midfielder Fedri (20) and striker Ansu Fati (20) last year, but included a €1 billion buyout into the contract clause.

The purchase price of Robert Lewandowski (34), a ‘Polish scoring machine’ recently acquired by Barcelona from Bayern Munich (Germany), is 500 million euros.

According to Spanish media Ases, the transfer fee that Barcelona agreed to pay Sevilla for Kunde is 50 million euros, with an additional payment option of 10 million euros.

Kunde, who mainly plays central defense, but can also play on the flanks, made his professional debut in Girondain Bordeaux, France in 2017, and then moved to Seville in July 2019, where he played as the team’s main defender.

In the 2021-2022 season, he played 32 matches in the Spanish La Liga, helping Sevilla take fourth place in the league.

Sevilla conceded the least goals (30 points) out of 20 teams in 38 league games last season.

Chelsea in the English Premier League initially aimed for Kunde, but Barcelona, who later entered the bid to sign, eventually succeeded in signing the contract.
