Barça’s final move to boost its exit operation

The FC Barcelona you have to lighten your wardrobe yes or yes, because there are many players on the payroll and Xavi Hernández does not have several of them. The intention of the azulgrana was resolve the sale of the ‘discards’ before the end of the US tour, but it has been impossible. Now, once morest the clock, they will work on closing as many folders as possible in the next seven days. A challenge that begins and that will be difficult to assume.

Barça announced the departure of Òscar Mingueza this Saturday, bound for Real Club Celta in exchange for three million euros and the percentage of a future sale. The player trained at La Masia will reinforce ‘Chacho’ Coudet’s squad for the next four seasons, following not fitting into Xavi’s approach. With its sale, the Barça entity reactivated the exit operation following a few weeks at a standstill, but the work has only just begun.

Next up will be Martin Braithwaite. According to various reports, the club is very close to reaching an agreement with the Danish striker to terminate his contract this summer. His intention is to continue in Spain or try the Premier League once more, so it is an operation that -in theory- from the Spotify Camp Nou they have on track and with no margin for error. A different case is that of Neto Murara.

The goalkeeper was Napoli’s main objective, but the operation stalled (a surprise!) and now the Italian team I would be attentive to the signing of Kepa (Chelsea). At the moment, there are no more teams interested in getting their services. At some point, Celta positioned themselves as a ‘real’ alternative, but the operation ended unsuccessfully and they are already ruling out their incorporation for this summer.

One that would have an offer on the table would be Samuel Umtiti, who has aroused the interest of Olympiacos. ‘ESPN’ had reported that the Greek team is studying the possibility of getting his loan for the next season. It is expected that in the next few days they will contact the Catalan entity to present a formal offer. Meanwhile, the central defender continues to train alone at the Ciutat Esportiva and will probably work under Xavi’s orders.

Riqui Puig is in a similar situation. Have an offer from los angeles, from the MLS, and might end up accepting it. The big problem is that time is running out and must be decided before Thursday, July 4, when the registration period for new footballers in the American competition ends. The California team has already contacted Barça and the 22-year-old footballer’s agents, now awaiting his final decision.

Memphis and De Jong, separate cases

This week will also be key to defining what will happen to the future of a Frenkie de Jong who might leave the Spotify Camp Nou. manchester United still interested in his transfer and has promised him an astronomical salary, in addition to paying him the deferred salary that Barça owes him, but the footballer wants to continue and fulfill his contract, which runs until 2026. Barça will try to put pressure on his departure or get a salary reduction.

On the other hand, there is a Memphis Depay who has already been shown the exit door. Xavi has informed him that he will not have many opportunities this season as a result of the ‘overbooking’ that is in the lead. The Dutchman insists that he wants to stay, but he has appeared on Juventus’ radar to strengthen his forward and accompany Vlahovic, although he is not the first option, since they are attentive to what may happen with Álvaro Morata (Atlético de Madrid) or Timo Werner (Chelsea).
