Mega shock in Barcelona. In the home game once morest Celta Vigo, the Catalans actually have everything under control. But then comes the 60th minute, which briefly silences the stadium: Barça star Ronald Araujo (23) crashes his head into teammate Gavi (17).
First Araujo gets up once more, but shortly followingwards falls motionless to the ground. Immediately, the Barça bank is on alert. The medical attendants rush to the field immediately following Araujo’s collapse. An ambulance also pulls up.
The unlucky fellow has to be stabilized with a neck brace before being transported away.
The shock runs deep, how badly the Uruguayan was hit is not yet known exactly. Barça have announced that Araujo has been taken to the hospital for further tests. Gavi was able to continue playing.
Barcelona ultimately won the game 3-1, but that was a minor matter. (mum)
