Manufacturer Mattel reportedBarbie dolls Famous to be honored Queen Elizabeth The launch of a Barbie doll in her form today, to mark the platinum jubilee of her accession to the throne.
The doll wears an ivory dress and blue scarf adorned with miniature models of decorations and ribbons. The doll also wears a tiara similar to the one Elizabeth wore on her wedding day.
Today, Thursday, is the 96th birthday of the Queen, and she ascended the throne following the death of her father, King George VI, on February 6, 1952. She is the longest-serving ruler in British history.
The doll will be sold at Harrods, Selfridges and Hamleys in London, ahead of the official Platinum Jubilee celebrations in early June.
Mattel has worked over the last decade to change its stereotype, following it was accused of manufacturing dolls with unrealistic standards, which led to psychological and nutritional disorders for many girls. Dolls of various sizes, skin colors and weights were presented.
It also worked on honoring several famous and influential personalities, such as Elvis PresleyAnd British scientist Sarah Gilbert, co-developing the Oxford / AstraZeneca vaccine once morest COVID-19.
