Baraqueville. Despite the bird flu, the poultry exhibition presented beautiful specimens

Avian flu prevented this year the gathering of the gallinaceans usually present at the poultry event in Baraqueville. However, on February 18 and 19, the organizers of the Société Avicole du Rouergue had decided to maintain its emblematic exhibition, 42nd of the name.

Pigeons and rabbits in the spotlight

This choice turned out to be good since almost 900 cages were exhibited and occupied mainly by pigeons and rabbits. Some even come from very far away.

Jean-Marie Kappes is a breeder from Alsace, very precisely from the municipality of Oermingen. He traveled some 900 km to present his finest specimens in Baraqueville. A long journey that nevertheless allowed his protege, a red Belgian hare rabbit, his daughter as he calls her, to win the first prize in her category.

He sincerely underlined the kindness of the organizers and Baraquevillois for the quality of their welcome.

A compliment that warms the hearts of the locals and emotions that, hopefully, will make him want to return to the capital of Ségala.
