Bar Bouche Amsterdam: friendly restaurant in East with a nice atmosphere and delicious wines
If you visit Bar Bouche on a sunny evening, be sure to take a seat on their spacious, green terrace. Facing west, so you have a nice long sun: ideal for the beautiful weather that is coming! Our visit is during one of the chilly April evenings, so we go inside. Cozy seats, nice lighting and cozy wallpaper: we love this warm interior! And the extremely friendly staff also made us feel immediately at home.

Dishes to share at Bar Bouche Amsterdam
The menu includes small and large dishes, which are perfect for sharing. And be sure to order a glass of wine: Bar Bouche is really known for its fine wines! We start with a mini bioche with smoked salmon mousse. Perfectly crispy bread, deliciously smoky and full mouse, and fresh trout eggs: incredibly delicious! And it goes perfectly with the glass of natural wine that we drink with it.

Tasty dishes with lots of vegetables
The great thing regarding Bar Bouche is that the menu has extremely tasty dishes with lots of vegetables. We taste the roasted leek: it is buttery soft and melts in our mouth! It is made extra special by the almond cream and herb oil, and the serrano ham crisps give it a nice salty bite. The roasted pointed cabbage is also very tasty. With a nice grilled taste, a nice creamy beurre blanc and here too nice and salty due to the samphire.

Mussels with harissa
Salmon tartare with gochujang oil
It’s difficult to choose an absolute favorite dish with so many delicious dishes, but the salmon tartare certainly comes close! A nice generous amount of coarsely chopped salmon, creamy because of the avocado and it gets a nice kick from the ponzu and gochujang oil. And are you a fan of mussels? At Bar Bouche they prepare them with harissa, and the feta cream and shaved fennel keep it wonderfully fresh!

Sticky toffee cake with caramel sauce
After all these goodies, we mightn’t resist tasting the desserts. The Lemon Posset has a nice balance between sweet and sour, with a slightly burnt meringue on top. And the sticky toffee cake is our favorite! Just sweet enough, with a caramel sauce on top, and the perfect ending to this lovely dinner.
We really enjoyed Bar Bouche! A delicious and accessible restaurant that you will keep going back to.
