Banque Atlantique, a subsidiary of the BCP Group, devotes 10% of its investment portfolio to financing Senegalese companies, its general director, Abdelmoumen Najoua, said on Friday in Dakar.

“For Banque Atlantique, financing intended for Senegalese companies today constitutes practically 10% of our commitments which we still consider low in relation to the potential of the country, the economy but also in relation to the ambitions of the bank,” said said Mr. Najoua, adding that Banque Atlantique is working to increase the volume of financing for small and medium-sized businesses.

“We are working on a certain number of strategic axes to further develop our presence in this market (…)”, he said on the occasion of the signing of an agreement between the Banque Atlantique and the Agence de development and supervision of small and medium-sized businesses (Adepme). “This agreement aims to support the financing of Senegalese SMEs and improve their eligibility for financing, through a privileged mechanism set up between Adepme and Banque Atlantique Senegal,” said, for his part, Idrissa Diabira, general manager. of Adepme.

“This partnership allows us, two months after the launch of the one-stop shop for access to financing, to have a new major player in the challenge of increasing the financing that we will grant to SMEs which is financing adapted to their needs” , he noted.
