Bannu Dharna: 45-member committee left for Peshawar to meet Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Southern city of be A 45-member committee led by Provincial Minister for Public Health Pakhtun Yar Khan has left for Peshawar on Monday to discuss the ongoing sit-in and law and order situation.

In this regard, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also said in a statement on Sunday that he will have a meeting with the committee members today i.e. Monday.

Speaking to Independent Urdu before leaving for Peshawar, Public Health Pakhtun Yar Khan said that the establishment of peace and order is a common problem for all of us. We will sacrifice everything for the sake of peace and restore the atmosphere of peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and especially Bannu Division.

He said that at this time the conditions of Bannu should be made favorable in all respects. They will struggle together to restore peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and especially Bannu Division. We are thankful to God that we have left no stone unturned in representing the nation, what is the use of development work if there is no peace and order atmosphere.

“The first task is to fight for the establishment of peace and order, everything is pointless if the atmosphere of peace is not restored. We have to pledge from today that we all have to establish the atmosphere of unity and agreement in any case.’

The committee, comprising elected representatives and people from other walks of life, placed 16 demands with the district administration, including immediate restoration of internet and mobile services. Regarding the remaining demands, the administration sought time from the committee members.

The committee placed the following demands before the district administration.

  1. Elimination of good and bad Taliban and their centers
  2. Restoration of network service in Bannu which was closed for three days
  3. Resolve not to start stabilization operation in Bannu
  4. The missing persons should be produced before the court
  5. The incident of July 15 and July 19 should be investigated immediately and
  6. Injured police personnel and public should be given compensation and treated in military hospitals.

Provincial Minister for Public Health Engineering Pakhtun Yar Khan said in a conversation with Independent Urdu that the sit-in will continue until the demands are accepted.

He said that we are constantly in touch with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur. He has assured that every demand of the nation will be accepted.

“I will try to get the negotiation committee of Banu Qom to meet with the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”

He further said that his party and himself have been opposing military operations even before and even today Burmla says that the determination operation will not be allowed under any circumstances.

Dr. Abdul Rauf Qureshi, the organizer of the sit-in, opposed the military operation in a conversation with Independent Urdu and said that CTD will take every action against terrorism and the police will be there to support them.

On the second day of the sit-in, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, head of Pashtun-Khwa Milli Awami Party, and Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan came to show solidarity.

A march for peace was organized in Bannu on March 19 against the military operation in Bannu, in which thousands of people participated.

One person was killed and 27 others injured in firing and a stampede during the march, after which Aman Paswan staged a sit-in at Police Lines Chowk in the city the next day.

Taking notice of the firing incident during March, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur ordered an investigation.

There is also a possibility that the committee of Musharam in Bannu will meet Chief Minister Amin Gandapur today.
