Banned pesticides: the Belgian State put on notice

Nature & Progrès and PAN Europe criticize the Belgian State for not respecting European bans on the use of certain pesticides, by granting exemptions. The State is put on notice, via its minister David Clarinval.

Lhe debate on the use of pesticides in the broad sense continues to rage, with on the one hand the producers and the usual users, on the other, the environmentalists, and between the two, the scientific world which analyzes and the politicians… who decide whether or not to use them, with above, the European cleaver. The fight is not regarding to end.

While the Court of Justice of the European Union took a drastic decision a few days ago on the ban on granting new derogations for the use of neonicotinoids, since half of the countries, including Belgium, were taking derogations year following year, the same Belgium refuses in parallel to withdraw the authorization of another pesticide also prohibited by the European Union.
