An English thief, who allegedly got her hand caught in the bag of groceries, has been banned from a chain following allegedly stealing the equivalent of more than $16,800 in food, including a ‘colossal amount of expensive meat’ , according to the Crown prosecutor.

“Enough is enough,” prosecutor Mark Farrell said on Wednesday, opposing the parole of Englishwoman Beverly McNeilly, according to local media “Belfast Telegraph”.

The 43-year-old woman from Belfast was in court for allegedly stealing more than £10,000 – more than $16,800 – in groceries from the Marks & Spencer chain.

She is accused of having stolen, on five occasions between January and May, a large quantity of food from the chain known for its high value products.

“She left with 30 steaks, a colossal amount of expensive meat, and Marks & Spencer is not cheap,” the lawyer reportedly said, according to local media.

The woman, who is believed to be suffering from heroin addiction as well as mental health issues, will be released on condition that measures are put in place to deal with her substance abuse issues, the judge has ruled, according to this report. “The Mirror” on Tuesday.

She would have, in passing, been banned from all the stores of the chain, at the risk of permanently losing custody of her dog Pablo.

“If Ms. McNeilly is arrested and taken into custody once more, the dog will be rehomed,” the lawyer insisted.
