Banks: agreement for more than 200 new ATMs by the end of 2025

In urban areas, distributors doomed to disappear will either be retained or replaced. Guarantees have been obtained concerning the maintenance or creation of 80 ATMs in strategic locations.

The objective is in particular to solve the problem of accessibility and queues at ATMs, in particular in the Brussels region.

In addition, free transactions will no longer be limited to ATMs of the consumer’s own banking institution: the latter will be able to make 24 free withdrawals per year from ATMs, regardless of the location of the ATM.

Finally, the agreement specifies that at least one out of two Batopin distributors will have the deposit function, “which is particularly important for traders and the liberal professions”, according to the ministers.
