After the Enterprise Court of Turnhout on July 18 declared the bankruptcy of four companies belonging to the controversial care and housing group Triamant, the Enterprise Court of Antwerp declared several other Triamant companies bankrupt . The court announced it on Thursday.
Companies in difficulty were summoned by a temporary administrator who declared bankruptcy for each of them. The court had previously denied them protection from creditors. A judicial administrator, Maître Caluwaerts, was appointed for each of the bankruptcies in order to manage the assets.
The companies concerned
The company court of Antwerp made this decision for the companies NV Blue Zones, NV Care Property Fund and NV Vividia. In Turnhout, the companies PatriBree, Patrigelu, Patripuurs and Triamant Digital have been declared bankrupt. Before that, other companies under the Triamant umbrella had already had to file for bankruptcy. On Tuesday, the care department once more forced Triamant to stop offering accommodation in Wervik and Bree. As a result, a dozen care dependent residents will have to move in the near future.
At the beginning of July, the city of Sint-Truiden filed a complaint once morest several non-profit organizations and companies that are part of Triamant. The lawsuit was filed following residents who had purchased bonds from Triamant were told they were likely to lose their money and interest would no longer be deducted from the rent they must pay.
