Mr. Jones filed for bankruptcy last December following being ordered to pay nearly $1.5 billion (C$2 billion) in the Connecticut case, brought by the families of eight shooting victims and a rescuer, reports CNN Business.
These families had filed lawsuits once morest Mr. Jones for his false statements regarding the December 2012 shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, which left 26 people dead, including 20 children.
The conspiracy theorist and other InfoWars figures called the massacre a hoax. The families of the victims had in return accused them of being crisis actors.
By declaring bankruptcy, Alex Jones hoped to get rid of his crushing debt.
The families filed a motion in May asking the court to force Alex Jones to pay damages.
Had he been forced to settle through bankruptcy, Jones might have liquidated his broadcasting company and likely paid the families a significantly lower amount in damages.
This scenario would also have allowed the conspirator to create a new company, which would have been free of any complaints.
The judge responsible for the case ruled Thursday once morest Mr. Jones, who must still pay $1.1 billion (C$1.5 billion) in damages to the injured families.
